Larissa Robin Forst (born Christopher Logan Frost; August 18, 1997) is an American voice actress, artist, and writer known for voicing Rain Flaherty in Rain: The Animated Series.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early life[edit | edit source]
As a young child, Logan recalled an incident at approximately four or five years old, when his uncle discovered a Barbie doll in Logan's possession and teased him about wanting to be a girl. The experience, while distressing, planted the seeds of doubt and confusion about his gender identity. Logan could not fully articulate his feelings at the time, though the moment left a lasting impact.
At the age of seven, Logan began experimenting with clothing traditionally associated with femininity. During a moment of exploration, he discovered items belonging to his older sisters, including undergarments and makeup. Logan found these items more comfortable and intriguing, but societal norms and familial expectations quickly quelled his curiosity. He was caught by his mother, who dismissed the activity as playful mischief. A subsequent conversation with his father reinforced traditional gender expectations, momentarily suppressing Logan's budding sense of self.
Foster Care and Continued Struggles[edit | edit source]
Following a period of familial instability, Logan entered foster care, where his experiences further challenged his sense of identity. Logan endured teasing from older children in the foster home, who insisted that he was a girl and that doctors had made a mistake. Though Logan verbally denied their claims, the persistent teasing and exposure to media representations of gender nonconformity, such as a Lifetime movie about a cross-dressing character, reignited feelings of confusion about his identity.
Adolescence and the Emergence of Self-Awareness[edit | edit source]
During puberty, Logan began to notice physical characteristics that contrasted with traditional expectations of masculinity, such as a curvier figure and a "wasp waist." These observations led to a pivotal moment of self-awareness when Logan experimented with tucking his body, imagining himself as female. Despite these realizations, societal pressures continued to cause internal conflict. Logan attempted to mask his feminine traits by overeating, which only resulted in a body shape that closely mirrored his mother’s. Throughout his teenage years, Logan engaged in secretive explorations of his gender identity, occasionally dressing in clothing associated with women. High school brought both challenges and opportunities for expression. A close friendship with a girl led to candid conversations about Logan’s feelings, culminating in a public yet playful moment where Logan wore feminine clothing to school as part of a bet. To Logan's surprise, the experience felt empowering and joyful.
Coming to Terms with Identity[edit | edit source]
By the time Logan reached young adulthood, he had developed a clearer understanding of his gender identity. He began to embrace the idea of transitioning and considered undergoing gender-affirming procedures. Initially describing his likelihood of transitioning as a "60/40 chance," Logan’s certainty grew over time, evolving into a 90% likelihood of pursuing a gender transition. Logan took steps to come out to close friends and family, receiving support from one of her older sisters and others he confided in. However, the prospect of sharing her decision with her parents and closest friends remained daunting. Logan described the process as emotionally overwhelming, likening it to the release of long-suppressed emotions.
